4Drive Cyprus is an online booking platform that connects drivers with local rental companies operating across Cyprus. We simplify the process of finding and reserving vehicles - from compact city runabouts to rugged 4x4 pickups - by bringing multiple providers onto a single interface. You search, compare availability and terms, and book directly through our system. The rental agreement itself is signed when you collect the vehicle from the local company that fulfils your reservation.
We do not own a fleet or operate rental desks. Instead, we work with established operators in Paphos, Larnaca, Limassol, Nicosia, and coastal resort towns to offer a range of vehicle types suited to mountain tracks, motorway cruising, and everything in between. Our role is to handle the booking advance online and send you a voucher with all the details you need for pick-up.
The booking process follows four straightforward steps. First, you enter your pick-up location, dates, and any preferences - automatic or manual transmission, diesel or petrol, two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The search results show available vehicles with their terms: remaining balance payment method (debit card, cash, or credit card, depending on the specific vehicle), liability waiver excess, and any deposit requirements at the counter.
Second, you pay a booking advance online by card to secure your reservation. Cash payments are not accepted online. The remaining balance is settled when you collect the vehicle, using the method listed in your booking confirmation.
Third, you receive a voucher by email. The voucher includes the rental company's name, contact details, pick-up instructions - whether that means a desk at the airport terminal, a meet point outside arrivals, or delivery to your hotel - and the confirmation reference.
Fourth, you present the voucher and your driving licence at the agreed time and location. The rental company checks the documents, walks you through the vehicle condition (any existing scratches or dents are noted in the rental agreement), and hands over the keys. At the end of your hire period, you return the vehicle to the same company.
We cover all major towns and arrival points on the island. Paphos and Paphos International Airport (PFO) serve the south-west coast and access routes to Akamas Peninsula and Coral Bay. Larnaca and Larnaca Airport (LCA) handle the south-east, with quick connections along the A3 motorway to Limassol and the A5 to Nicosia. Limassol sits centrally on the southern coast, 45 km from Troodos mountain roads. Ayia Napa and Protaras anchor the south-east cape, popular with beach visitors. Nicosia, the capital, lies inland and provides a base for exploring the Troodos range and central plains.
Smaller hubs include Coral Bay on the Paphos coast, Dhekelia on the eastern shore, Paralimni near Protaras, and Episkopi west of Limassol. Each location connects to our network of local rental companies, so you can pick up in one town and drop off in another if the operator permits one-way rentals.
Many vehicles in our search results carry a "no deposit" label. This means the local rental company will not place a hold or authorisation on your card when you collect the vehicle. You pay the remaining balance and drive away without a frozen sum sitting on your account for the duration of the hire.
It is important to understand that "no deposit" refers only to the up-front hold. The liability waiver excess - the amount you remain responsible for in the event of damage or theft - still applies and is stated clearly in the terms. These are two separate parameters: one concerns cash flow at pick-up, the other concerns financial responsibility during the rental period. Choosing a no-deposit option does not alter the excess figure or shift liability.
If a vehicle does require a deposit, the amount and accepted card types (debit or credit) are shown before you complete your booking. For drivers who hold only a debit card, we recommend checking with your bank to ensure your daily spending or authorisation limit can accommodate both the rental balance and any deposit hold.
